I call this method pseudo-psychedelics because like mushrooms, obogaine, ketamine or MDMA, we work with the unconscious using hypnotherapy techniques proven to create neuroplasticity and new neural pathways. The experience is similar to psychedelics, but with full control, less commitment and zero impairment. You get powerful visuals, somatic feelings and emotional shifts without the drugs, the intensity or the recovery time. When we're done, you're clear. Drive, take a meeting, live your life. Just feeling like something meaningful happened.
Working together can be a great integration post-trip, a precursor or a light proxiy if you are unable or unwilling to pursue psychedelics directly. Breathwork has many similarities to that and we may do a bit of breathwork, too.

You are the answer because under the noise, conditioning and ruckus of life, each of us has a wise, North Star self that knows better than anyone what you need and that navigates your entire system. By getting past the daily noise to the unconscious self, old memories and past feelings, we get to where real change happens and where literal dreams get processed. Talking alone never gets there.

Unlike a lot of “experts,” I don’t want to be your guru and I don’t think I have all the answers. I know that you have the answers, you just need help accessing and shaping them.
We use a combination of multiple practices, integrating what’s useful from each to reach places that can be hard to hit by talking alone, or that get too chaotic with plant medicines or other psychedelics. I tap into reiki, hypnotherapy, shamanic journeying, IFS and narrative therapy.
My background in advertising and building brands also helps me drill very quickly into the emotional core of the matter. I’ll catch it vividly in words, imagery and stories you can use, and I’ll send them in my followup.
Those follow-up tools for integration and use almost never happens in “woo” spaces and not enough in therapy.

No. You are fully conscious, just in a state of deep relaxation.

Yes, energy work is simply an inherent part of what we will do. I often experience feelings in my body that the participant is experiencing. I sometimes feel other ones entirely that lead us to messages or ideas. I will endeavor to move stuck or painful energy and help you infuse positive energy and feelings back into your body and psyche by the end of each session. That is my goal and the arc I follow.
I am a level 3 Reiki master and this is infused into my process.

You will leave at least one of these things after each session:
a message or “mantra” to focus on as you go forward
a symbol or visual anchor to remind yourself of what you need to know or focus on
a metaphor to anchor you to what you need
a deeper connection to self that we will anchor in with a practice .
Every session includes a follow-up email with your tools and anchors. For deeper integration, we can continue via text, audio messaging or one-on-one sessions.

I’m told my sessions are deeply immersive and surprising, yet feel surprisingly safe.
When you're in journey, so am I. I often see or experience your journey like a movie in my mind, narrating it and making it stronger. I may give you metaphors or sharpen the imagery you see for a stronger experience. I often feel your emotions, helping you name them to release better. It can get weird. It works.
My storytelling and meaning-making skillset helps, too - giving stronger words, metaphors and narratives that help shape what is happening for you.
Talking during the session helps further all of this, but you always have the option to stay in silence.

Hypnotherapy is different from traditional talk therapy, psychotherapy or counseling in a number of ways. Both are valuable and can even complement each other.
Traditional therapy focuses mainly on the conscious and rational mind: the thoughts, feelings and actions in your everyday awareness. It’s talk based and typically has a therapeutic relationship that lasts a long time. Therapists are licensed and are the right choice for deep trauma, depression, complex mental health disorders and relational or coping skill building.
Hypnotherapy and shamanic journeying go beyond the conscious mind into the unconscious (also called the subconscious), including feelings in the body. Guiding you into a deeply relaxed state, it uses guided imagery and exploration of feeling, memories and the body to understand experiences and thoughts, reframe beliefs and often gain deep insights into self, habits, fears or situations. It’s also shown great results working with pain and performance.
The two can work beautifully together. Hypnotherapy and methods like mine can speed talk therapy benefits by unlocking insights and “beiieving what you know” on a deeper level, dissolving old blocks.

Hypnotherapy and psychedelics reach similar places through different doors. Both modulate the brain's default mode network (DMN). That is the ego-driven, self-referential system that filters most of our conscious experience. Both open access to buried memories, emotions and subconscious material that talking alone rarely surfaces.
Through hypnosis and shamanic journeying AND psychedelics, people report vivid visualizations, heightened sensations, shifts in time perception and moments of profound perspective change and emotional release.
Both are used clinically for PTSD, anxiety, depression and addiction, and both can produce the kind of meaningful, lasting shifts that can be difficult to explain but deeply real and effective.
The difference is control. Psychedelics are pharmacological . They are powerful, sometimes unpredictable, and requiring significant experiential and recovery time.
Hypnotherapy can create comparable depth through guided suggestion, with full awareness throughout. When the session ends or you just open your eyes, you're clear.
That's my pseudo-psychedelics premise: same access without the drugs, the intensity or the aftermath.
If you have had psychedelic experiences you wish to integrate or explore further, I am trained specifically in how to help you do that.
Studies are still in progress, but it is known that the actual brain mechaisms used are different.

Meditation quiets the mind , while hypnotherapy directs it toward specific unconscious material.
While both use deep relaxation and inward vision and focus, my combined method seeks to use deeper states specifically for insight and release. It is active and experiential. We may re-experience a past moment, revisit an old relationship, seek messages and connection, re-write narratives and old ideas that have stuck around too long.
Often meditation seeks to empty or blank the mind of thoughts or imagery. The idea is not insight as much as freedom from the mind.
While both can be beneficial, the profound and complex emotional, psychological and visual shifts I have experienced with hypnotherapy and shamanic journeying make it a powerful tool.

Somatic means working with body and somatic therapy is working with the body and its feelings to release past tension, pain or emotions. Whether you believe the body keeps the score or not, I have found that working with the body as part of this method to be extremely valuable. It creates insight into past experiences, feelings and ideas. I sometimes introduce ideas from other methods such as chakras or traditional chinese medicine to help us reframe what we are feeling.
Working on embodiment can be very powerful as part of this process, particularly during or after an illness or injury, infertility, childbirth, worry or issues of confidence or self concept. The body has a lot to tell us and support us through, whether we believe emotions and trauma are stored in it or not.
-
I work to understand and reflect the faith and belief systems of the people I am working with, not to impress my own upon them.
These experiences can be extremely connecting, profound and emotional. To some folks, that is inherently spiritual. To others, not at all.
You are very welcome to share your beliefs, boundaries and guardrails before the session. You are also free not to.
I believe the answers you are looking for can be powerfully accessed through you and through this process. I believe that because I have seen and experienced it.

A lucid dream is knowing you are having a dream while you are having it and being able to guide or direct it in some way. Typically during REM sleep, it merges dreaming with an awareness similar to being awake. I’ve found lucid dreams to also feel particularly intense. Many people use lucid dreaming for problem solving, practicing a skill or experience like playing a sport or giving a speech or psychological or emotional exploration.
I compare this method to lucid dreaming with a co-pilot because you access that same level of semi-consciousness, reframing and heightened experience but with a guide, you have both more control and someone to help you process and remember the journey. Dreams often fade, even lucid ones.
